An extraordinary solar shade that supports the ecosystem

Buildings usually have huge windows which are enclosed by curtain from inside. The curtain serves as shade, but it sadly blocks the scenery outside.

Blocking the sunshine is bad. What we need is to capture the sunshine with a special awning. And xClinic has designed an innovative solar shade named Solar Awning. It features a special shade that can be winded outwards from inside.

The Solar Awning, however, is not an ordinary solar shade. It’s even an ecosystem. The awning can capture the sunshine in adjustable manner, providing shade not only for the building interior, but also for the eaves which are usually used by birds as their sanctuary. In fact, there is a space for bird nesting underneath the awning. And under the window, there is also a veggie garden box.

In a big city, trees have been very rare. Birds usually have no choice, but to build their nesting spots on high building. The Solar Awning can be a solution to keep the proliferation of the birds. The birds droppings won’t make dirty the city’s streets since there is a garden box under the window. The droppings will even nourish the mini garden.
