How to do a bedroom cabinet installation
Complete directions for making a recessed storage cabinet installed into an attic wall.
Materials:
• adhesive
• eye protection
• paint
• screws
• trim
• primer
Tools:
• power saw
• pencil
• chalk line
• dust mask
• circular saw
Directions:
1. Cutting the foam insulation. Mark cut lines on the foam insulation by using a chalk line, and then cut it with a circular saw. Make sure that the measurement is suitable to cover the outside of the cabinet shell.
2. Shielding the insulation. Use adhesive to shield the foam insulation to the outside of the cabinet. Strengthen with a few screws.

3. Transferring the measurement. At the wall, find the measurement of the distance from the sides of the opening to the roof studs. Transfer this measurement to the cabinet by using a pencil.
4. Sliding the cabinet into place. The cabinet must be tipped forward. Lift it from underneath and then slide it into place, so that it’s flush with the wall.
5. Securing the cabinet. Hold the cabinet securely in place by driving screws into the roof studs from the inside of the cabinet.
6. Installing the trim. Measure and cut the trim to cover the outside edges of the cabinet. To give the cabinet a finished look, you can prime and paint the trim.
